A rave called Kinetic took place on April 12, 1997 at the Marathon Motor Factory in Nashville. Primarily organized by WRVU student engineer Brad Robinson, this was the primary fundraiser for WRVU Nashville that year, grossing $27,000, with an estimated attendance of 2000 persons. This was perceived at the time as a bit of a make or break event for the station which lost money at a fraught benefit event at the Cannery in April 1996.
